Who We Are

In July of 2020 we started with an idea. In the wake of a global pandemic, we realized that students would be learning remotely for most of the 2020-2021 school year. For many younger students, this schooling can't match up to the same in depth content they would receive in class. For many older students, social distancing means the loss of SSL opportunities. However, just because schools and businesses are on hold does not mean that learning should be. We formed a team with a vision- to provide accessible educational resources to students across the county. Our organization aims to connect qualified high schoolers with younger students to meet both of these needs.

What Volunteers Do

SparkStars Tutoring offers free online educational resources to students in grades 4-8 in the form of flexible one-on-one tutoring and structured group classes. Student volunteers will mentor tutees in the subjects they request by providing homework help and/or teaching them something new, so that they can continue to thrive academically in this new environment.
