Who We Are
The mission of Goshen Elementary School PTA is to create a partnership with parents and Goshen Elementary School staff to support a strong sense of community, assist and provide supplemental cultural and educational resources and programs, and provide an advocacy voice to governmental bodies on behalf of our children's best interest. Goshen ES PTA is about connecting parents and Goshen staff by strengthening, enhancing and encouraging educational and social experiences to positively impact the lives of the children and families of Goshen Elementary School. The success of the Goshen Elementary School PTA can be measured in the cooperative spirit demonstrated between teachers and parents and how it positively impacts each student at Goshen Elementary School. The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
What Volunteers Do
Student volunteers assist Goshen ES PTA with family engagement events, like Back to School Picnic, Movie Night, Fall Fling, Book Fair, Literacy Night, STEM Night, Heritage Night, Read Aloud Day, School Dance, Talent Show, Fun Run, and many more! This may include: set up, clean up, decorations, administrative support, assisting at tables/booths, and assisting students and adult volunteers during the event as needed. Occasionally, Goshen ES PTA will need student volunteers to provide administrative assistant with our fundraising efforts. This may include: designing promotions, copying, sorting and distributing promotional materials and merchandise. In the future, we would like to recruit teams of student volunteers to help beautify Goshen Elementary. This may include: assist with landscaping (weeding, planting, laying down mulch), painting/decorating, and assist with special projects (like kindness rocks or building benches or a free library).
