Who We Are

The Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail is a nonprofit citizens group that spearheads efforts to develop the 11.2-mile shared-use trail from Georgetown to Silver Spring. Established in 1986, the Coalition advocates for trail safety, maintenance and improvements. The Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) is a rails-to-trails conversion and one of the most heavily used trails in the region. It serves cyclists, walkers, joggers, skateboarders, rollerbladers and others who use it for recreation and commuting. What Volunteers Do

Coalition volunteers support the trail by joining our outdoor community events to clear invasive plants and vines along the CCT, and by participating in other activities to help maintain the trail and its natural beauty. The Coalition's volunteer Board members are active advocates for the CCT, a rails-to-trails conversion, and engage with elected and other officials on important trail issues. Please visit our website to find out how you can get involved.
