Who We Are
Even though the organization is located in New Jersey, it has 200+ volunteers nationally and internationally. Recycle My Battery (https://recyclemybattery.org) envisions a cleaner, safer world for our generation and future generations. Its mission is to pivot the mindset of people with respect to their disposal of used batteries and to create public awareness on the ill-effects of indiscriminate and unscientific ways of battery disposal. Besides spreading awareness, Recycle My Battery provides certified battery bins with two-way priority shipping free of cost to any public/private organizations including schools, libraries, community centers, etc.,
Recycle My Battery is proud to state that so far, we have collected and recycled more than 175,000+ used batteries, educated more than 3 million people on the importance and need of recycling used batteries properly. This could not have been possible without the support of our amazing team of 200 + young kids.
What Volunteers Do
The main voluntary work the kids do is to spread awareness about battery recycling as even today only 1% of the people know about the battery recycling process and 15 billion batteries are carelessly thrown away in the trash every year worldwide.
The adult volunteers spread awareness by leafleting, do door to door campaigns, organize webinars in the schools and organizations explaining why it’s important to recycle batteries properly. They will also place battery bins in schools, libraries, organizations etc and once they are full, they will be sent back to Call2Recycle for recycling.
Student volunteers will participate and help in recycle my battery community events where they will educate participants and provide them resources to learn more about it.
