

Who We Are
The purpose of the corporation is to organize, plan, and conduct a community celebration, originally centered on the community of Burtonsville, but now expanded to include all of East County (defined by the East County Regional Service Center Service area map), and for any other lawful purpose as permitted by law in the state of Maryland.
What Volunteers Do
Location: Marilyn Praisner Community Recreation Center, Columbia Park. James Hubert Blake, Springbrook, and Paint Branch High School Students may either bring their own MCPS Form 560-51 [Student Service Learning (SSL) Activity Verification] or will be provided a copy at the recreation center for submittal by the students to their respective schools’ SSL coordinator.
Please note: A pre-event meeting will be held for all SSL signed-up students on September 18 at 7:00pm to review and provide assignments of tasks they will be asked to perform. This meeting will be held at the Marilyn Praisner Community Recreation Center at: 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD 20866. Signed parental consent form needed.
Students between grade levels 9th through 12th grades may sign up. Available volunteer time slots are:
• 7:00am – 11:00am: Event setup and support as assigned (4 positions)
• 7:00am – 11:00am: Parade lineup coordination (6 positions)
• 11:00am – 3:30:00pm: Event support as assigned (4 positions)
