Who We Are
The purpose of the corporation is to organize, plan, and conduct a community celebration, originally centered on the community of Burtonsville, but now expanded to include all of East County (defined by the East County Regional Service Center Service area map), and for any other lawful purpose as permitted by law in the state of Maryland.
What Volunteers Do
Location: Marilyn Praisner Community Recreation Center, Columbia Park.
Date: September 19, 2026
Parade Setup Time: 7:30 am to 10:00 am
Event Setup Time: 7:30 am to 11:00 am
Eligibility: Adults (age 21 - 60)
Parade Setup Volunteers Duties: Follow directions given by parade coordinators in managing vehicle and parade float traffic to either parking spaces or to line up in parade queues in preparation for the parade kickoff.
Event Setup Volunteer Duties: Follow directions given by event coordinators in managing vendor or exhibitor vehicles to vendor/exhibitor spaces to off-load their vehicles and then directing them to parking spaces outside the event location.
Mandatory Pre-Event Meeting: All volunteers will need to attend a pre-event briefing on September 17 at 7:00 pm at the Marilyn Praisner Community Recreation Center located at 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD
