Who We Are
Since our launch in 1995, Everybody Wins DC has used books and reading to help children thrive. Through one-on-one mentoring, read-aloud activities, and free book distributions, EWDC is helping children build the skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. EWDC's reading programs are offered both virtually and in-person and are 100% free for families, schools, and community partners.

What Volunteers Do
Power Readers mentors are paired with a local student to read together for one hour each week. No curriculum or lesson plan is required-- just connecting over a good book. Hourly sessions take place at our school and community partner sites during the school day (between 10am-2pm) or after school. Limited virtual mentoring opportunities are also available with our students.
Mentors are currently needed for reading sessions at Leleck Elementary School (710 Beacon Road, Silver Spring MD) on Wednesdays from 11:35-12:35.
