Global Sustainable Partnerships (GSP) is a non-profit that does community outreach work in the East and West Africa. In 2020, we pivoted our efforts due to COVID-19 in the DMV, because we recognized the wide range of inequities prevalent in Black communities, including the impact of the Social Determinants of Health (e.g., Diabetes) and the lack of health and wellness and mental health support in our African American, African Diaspora and Caribbean communities. We created solutions that address these issues and provide culturally appropriate intergenerational programs.
