Who We Are

The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) is a member of the U.S. Soccer Federation as a National State Association and is affiliated with US Youth Soccer. Established in 1976, MSYSA serves as the primary advocate for youth soccer in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia. MSYSA is dedicated to offering the highest quality soccer education, player development, and programs while fostering sportsmanship, fitness, diversity, teamwork, and passion for the game.

What Volunteers Do

JUNIOR COACH-MENTOR (BUDDY) – Let's Play! coach/mentor will implement the MSYSA Let’s Play! program and curriculum in participating Title 1 and Community Elementary schools during After School hours! The position requires outgoing individuals with the ability to assist in leading kids in a positive learning environment centered on soccer, nutrition, and social/emotional learning. This is a fun, fast-paced, and rewarding atmosphere. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Attend one practice per week for a weekly commitment of up to 2 hours maximum- (3:30 pm-5:00/5:30 pm – typical timeframe) • Assist with the facilitation of the day’s lesson plan by setting up and breaking down games and lessons. • Participate in games and activities with the students as a role model. • Work with coaches and volunteers to create a positive learning environment.
