Who We Are

The Office of Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) provides community organizations and public agencies with access to public schools and government facilities for community services, programs, and events. Many County facilities are available to host community activities after business hours, and at affordable rates. CUPF issues use permits for public access to County facilities at scheduled times. Under authority of the Interagency Coordinating Board (ICB) has as its mission the facilitation of fair, equitable and affordable access to public facilities. That mission also requires CUPF to make facilities welcoming, accommodating and available for community use. With the assistance of CUPF, we can help with the reserving of the Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza, athletic fields, public library meeting rooms, public school facilities, regional service centers, and facilities at the Wheaton Urban District such as the Marion Fryer Town Plaza.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteers will be tasked with the responsibilities of assisting with CUPF Community Outreach Events, Service or civic engagements, and various outreach related activities. Volunteers will assist with the distribution of promo items, setup and sharing of CUPF information at booth related events, plus social media content. Volunteers will be encouraged to showcase or highlight any musical talents or other acceptable talents providing additional support to PSA's, commercials, and podcast.
