Resilience Across Borders, Inc.

Resilience Across Borders, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that increases access to high-quality mental health preventions and interventions for youth and adolescents in under-resourced and underserved communities. With one part-time Executive Director and a volunteer research team of five committed mental health professionals, we currently reach over 500 youth in the DMV through our flagship Resilience Builder Program-Universal. We also educate professionals and caregivers nationally through virtual and in-person talks and workshops to expand understanding of the importance resilience plays in the lifelong mental health and wellness of today's youth. Our founder and President of the Board of Directors Dr. Mary K. Alvord remains an influential and notable researcher in the field of resilience. Her research related to resilience and its key protective factors is undeniable in its demonstration of long-term positive impacts on academic achievement, behavioral engagement, and other positive life outcomes.
