About Our Montgomery County Government - Community Engagement Office Located at 2425 Reedie Drive, 2nd Floor, Wheaton, MD 20902, our space is home to two essential Montgomery County entities: the Wheaton Urban District and the Mid-County Regional Services Center. Together, we work to connect residents, businesses, and visitors with the services, resources, and support that make our communities thrive. Wheaton Urban District: The Wheaton Urban District focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and vibrant downtown Wheaton, supporting both a strong business environment and a lively community space. Our team provides a wide range of services within the Central Business District, including: - Security and public safety support - Streetscape and tree maintenance - Sidewalk repair and beautification - Marketing and event programming Whether you’re enjoying a community event or simply strolling downtown, you’ll notice the special touches, like fresh landscaping or well-maintained public areas put in place by our dedicated Urban District team. Our mission is to make Wheaton a welcoming place to live, work, and play. Mid-County Regional Services Center: The Mid-County Regional Services Center serves as the County’s local government hub for the following communities: Ashton, Aspen Hill, Brookeville, Capitol View, Derwood, Forest Glen, Glenmont, Kemp Mill, Kensington, Layhill, Norbeck, Olney, Sandy Spring, Upper Rock Creek, and Wheaton. Led by the Mid-County Regional Services Director, Luisa Cardona, our office: - Strengthens communication between residents and County agencies - Identifies regional priorities and future service needs - Recommends local programs and policies - Oversees key services in Downtown Wheaton, including the Urban District Clean and Safe Teams From neighborhood outreach to policy development and community events, our goal is to ensure every corner of the Mid-County region feels connected, heard, and supported. Here at the Mid-County Regional Services Center and Wheaton Urban District, volunteers are the heart of what we do! Whether it’s helping to engage the community, support local businesses, or bring our exciting events to life, there’s something meaningful and fun for everyone. Volunteers, may find themselves: - Chatting with neighbors at a community resource table, - Assisting with outreach to local businesses, - Setting up for one of our signature events like Taste of Wheaton, the TGIF Summer Concert Series, HalloWheaton, and more! Our office may be small, but our impact is big. We connect people to valuable County resources across the Mid-County region and volunteers are key to making that happen. You’ll meet folks from all walks of life and help foster the vibrant, diverse community that makes Wheaton so special.
