Lift Every Step

We are an non-profit organization committed to increasing access to essential footwear by collecting new and gently used shoes for those in need around the DMV area.

Volunteers with Lift Every Step help support our mission of increasing access to essential footwear for individuals and families in need. Volunteer responsibilities may include organizing, cleaning, and sorting donated shoes to prepare them for distribution; helping deliver and set up donation boxes at community partner locations; assisting with the pickup and transportation of collected shoes; and supporting donation events where shoes are distributed directly to individuals experiencing homelessness and others in need. Through these activities, volunteers help ensure that donated footwear is properly prepared and delivered to the communities we serve.
