Who We Are

ASCYO serves the community by providing opportunity for young musicians to attain musical excellence through instruction, rehearsal and public performances of the great musical compositions of the past and present. The objective of the Academy is to foster a holistic and wholesome environment where music and the arts are connected to the other areas of life in a balanced setting. The services provided to young people in music are given without regard to sex, race, religion, or national origin.

What Volunteers Do

ASCYO is comprised of six ensembles: The Prep Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Youth Orchestra; the Symphonic Band, Beginning Band, and Flute Choir. ASCYO ensembles rehearse on Tuesday evenings for 12 weeks in the fall and the spring for one to two hours, depending on the level, between the hours of 5 and 9 pm. A series of free community concerts concludes each semester.
