Who We Are

Since 1968, Bethesda Help, Inc. has been providing critical safety net services to those in need who reside within our service area, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, and parts of Potomac, Silver Spring, and Wheaton. We are currently focused on fighting food insecurity.

Bethesda Help also provides referrals to other agencies who can assist with shelter, clothing, or other needs.

What Volunteers Do

Bethesda Help is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, governed by a Board of Directors. Daily operations are overseen by a Management Team and supported by over 100 volunteers who support our mission. We respond to families in crisis due to food insufficiency by providing:

  • Delivery of shelf-stable food for each member of the household
  • Referrals to other government or non-profit agencies in Montgomery County
