Who We Are
Carpe Diem Arts' mission is to engage communities across generations and cultures through the visual, literary and performing arts. Based in Silver Spring, Maryland and serving the National Capital Region, our goal is to create inclusive communities—where the arts unite, energize, and inspire. Through innovative partnerships we achieve our dual aim of impacting diverse and under-resourced communities while also supporting the livelihoods of master teaching and performing artists representing a broad range of cultures and traditions. The values that guide our work are diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and access -- bringing the arts to life in ways that matter and make a difference in building stronger living-learning communities.
What Volunteers Do
Carpe Diem Arts' activities include after-school programs, summer arts and language immersion camps, community dances, concerts, monthly family sings, cultural enrichment programs and residencies for preschool through high school, adults and seniors, ukulele instruction, songwriting and performance opportunities, and other community arts outreach initiatives for all ages.
