Friends Of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

Protecting, restoring, and promoting the beauty and integrity of the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in partnership with the National Park Service.

We encourage public discovery of a unique educational resource ? an incredible wetland and natural riparian environment surprisingly located two miles from the Capitol along the tidal Anacostia River. We have worked in partnership with Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (National Park Service) since 2001, to protect, restore, and promote the park. Our volunteers and members believe that we must celebrate and protect this jewel within our city and region. Given the unique characteristics of the park, Friends will achieve our mission by pursuing the following goals: Encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy and support Kenilworth by volunteering their time; Supporting the NPS at Kenilworth with our time, talents and donations; Delivering high quality educational, interpretive and volunteer programs; and Building a broad constituency to advocate for the park for years to come.
