Who We Are

Healing Yourself Outreach Program Center - HYOP

This letter contains a brief outline of the Healing Yourself Outreach Program along with general information and special features of our program.

Introduction:

The Healing and Deliverance Ministry Inc. is a ministry dedicated to the Power of "God's" Word, for the healing and deliverance of all people. Our desire is to implement an extraordinary effort to provide adults and youth with a "first-class" character training, education, providing a wealth of solid ideas that will make a positive difference in the State of Maryland, including our local Montgomery County community. For some, it may be the one factor in their lives that can change a cycle of poverty, ignorance, underemployment, unemployment and crime. And for others, it will represent the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

Purpose

To provide professional development opportunities, leaderships skills, certifications, apprenticeships, career portfolios, interviewing skills, character education, links to self-help community agencies.

Objectives

  • To follow the State of Maryland Values Education Commission.
  • To increase the potential personal integrity and honesty rooted in respect for the truth, intellectual curiosity, and love of learning.
  • A sense of duty to self, family, school, and community.
  • Self-esteem rooted in the recognition of one's potential.
  • Respect for the rights of all persons regardless of their race, religion, sex, age, physical condition, or mental state.
  • A recognition of the right of others to hold and express differing views, combined with the capacity to make discriminating judgments among competing opinions.
  • A sense of justice, rectitude, fair play and a commitment to them.
  • A disposition of understanding, sympathy, concern, and compassion for others.
  • A sense of discipline and pride in one's work; respect for the achievements of others.
  • Respect for one's property and the property of others, including public property.
  • Courage to express one's convictions.
  • Reinforce positive values.
  • Provide guidance that will enhance professional growth.
  • To assist disadvantaged youths to develop responsible attitudes and to overcome problems of social adjustment.
  • To increase the potential employability of disadvantaged youths through meaningful work ethic lessons, games and recreation.
  • To provide incentives for enrollees to complete their high school training and to improve their academic achievement, encouraging intentional learning at all times.

Our program will assign staff persons to follow-up on the participants' progress. We will be available to them to work out any problems that arise that may hinder their success by linking them with the proper self-help community agencies.

We will maintain participant sign-in sheets, written progress reports on the participants and answer any question of our grantors.

To address safety and medical concerns that may be necessary it will be a requirement for participants to fill out the proper forms in case of injury.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteers assists with programs, events and activities organized by HYOP, volunteers must work cooperatively as a reliable team member to complete volunteer assignments as given. Volunteers assist with HYOP"s monthly food distribution program.  Volunteers may assist with unpacking, bagging food items, and help distributing items in the community.  Other duties include cleaning, taking inventory on remaining food items, etc.
