Learning Undefeated

Learning Undefeated^TM is a non-profit organization that brings life-changing STEM education and career opportunities to underserved communities. Through innovative and experiential education programs for grades K-12, we are sparking interest in STEM careers, building the workforce that will drive the innovation economy, and bridging school, community, health, and business.

We are achieving the mission through three goals:

• Educate | creating STEM experiences that change lives through hands-on learning, building awareness, and engaging communities
• Elevate | diversifying the pipeline of STEM professionals who will fill the jobs of tomorrow, by inspiring students to imagine their own success
• Empower | providing experiential learning opportunities for students and communities typically underrepresented in STEM

Learning Undefeated has been providing innovative and effective bioscience education for middle and high school students since 1997. The non-profit (501c 3) organization is dedicated to providing bioscience awareness, education, and workforce development in Maryland, Washington, DC, Texas, and beyond. We accomplish this through a diverse set of programs including the flagship mobile laboratory programs, summer programs, and tech-infused learning.

Mobile STEM education is part of Learning Undefeated’s larger strategy to increase student interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. Mobile laboratories (mobile labs) allow us to bring scientific tools and techniques right to the school parking lot, allowing students access to experiences far beyond what many schools can provide.

Learning Undefeated leverages its established, trusted relationships with private industry and school systems to create authentic STEM career experiences on its mobile laboratories (MdBioLab, MXLab, Drop Anywhere Labs, and the explorer lab) and through summer programs. These experiences provide a unique opportunity for students to observe first-hand the types of careers they could pursue. Students and teachers who participate gain increased access to information about bioscience industry products, research, and related careers through project and inquiry-based laboratory experiences that are aligned with local, state, and national curriculum standards.

Student Opportunities 

Learning Undefeated is a proud affiliate of the Montgomery County Volunteer Center and Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). We take part in offering middle school and high school students service-learning opportunities throughout the state of Maryland. Opportunities can include volunteering at events (both in-person or virtually), assembling At-Home Science Kits for local communities, and assisting with curriculum development and programming.
