Who We Are
Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, Inc. has a three-part mission: (1) to provide pre-professional through professional level training for dancers (including instruction in classical ballet, modern dance, jazz - classical and Broadway styles - and other forms of dance); (2) to provide performing opportunities for pre-professional students; and to serve the community by offering dance classes and performances for enjoyment and cultural enrichment.
What Volunteers Do
Dance performers may earn Student Service Learning hours for public performances during the winter season "The Nutcracker" and the spring season concert. These two annual MBT performances are presented to the general community. Hours may also be earned performing at nursing homes and other sites for non-ambulatory residents of Montgomery County. Theatre/Lobby/Backstage volunteers assist the MBT performing company with various responsibilities i.e.; make-up application, concession stand, gift sales, photo with sugar plum fairy, ticket collection, program distribution, etc.
