Who We Are

The mission of Montgomery County Recreation is to provide high quality, diverse, and accessible programs, services and facilities that enhance the quality of life for all ages, cultures, and abilities.

Montgomery County is home to more than a million people. The kinds of recreation programs and activities provided by Montgomery County Recreation are as diverse as the people who live here. From aquatics and sports programs to dance, arts and crafts, cooking, music, fitness programs, and therapeutic programs for people with disabilities. There are offerings appropriate for all age groups, interests and abilities.

Many of these programs are supported by volunteers, who contribute their time and their talents to enhancing the quality of life for the more than 80,000 residents who participate in Recreation programs each year.

Whether you are looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community, are seeking new experiences and skills or need to fulfill Student Service Learning (SSL) requirements, there is a Recreation volunteer opportunity that will suit your interests and needs. Volunteering to help others can be life changing.
