

Who We Are
Montgomery History collects, interprets and promotes the history, heritage and culture of Montgomery County, Maryland. The organization also manages and interpretes the Beall Dawson and Stonestreet Museums in Historic Rockville, MD as well as providing a library and archives for historical research.
What Volunteers Do
At our Stonestreet Museum of 19th Century medicine, we offer many opportunities through guided and self-guided tours, field trips, and special events for the public to learn about the history of Montgomery County, MD. We offer a history conference, speakers series and outreach programs to communicate and educate the public on Montgomery County History. Our Jane Sween Library and our Archives offer genealogy research as well as general research and information on Montgomery County and the close surrounding areas, to include land records and photographs. We rely on our volunteers for docents, speakers, and event coordination and outreach.
