Who We Are

The Mission of the Montgomery Youth Hockey Association is to be the leading youth sports organization in Maryland, DC and Virginia. We provide a fun, safe and properly supervised atmosphere that emphasizes skill development, mastery of ice hockey and sportsmanship.

What Volunteers Do

Montgomery Youth Hockey is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for area children to play ice hockey. Montgomery Youth Hockey is one of the largest youth hockey organizations in the country. We have over 1200 members and we provide every level of ice hockey programming - from learn-to-skate programs up to Tier 1 travel ice hockey. We offer programs to children from ages 4 through 18. We seek volunteers to accomplish this mission by ensuring that all of our players, regardless of skill, gender, age or level of engagement have a positive environment in which to enjoy the game; and by having coaches who serve as good role models who educate our players with sound, age-appropriate instruction. Respect of the game, opponents, officials, teammates and self is one of our core values. We strive to build a strong community of players, coaches and families, with the goal of developing the young athletes we serve in to better athletes and better people.

We are looking for Student Volunteers to assist the Head Coach, On-Ice, in teaching the fundamental skills of ice hockey to our younger/beginner level players in our instructional program, Mite (8 & Under) Program, and Atom (6 & Under) Program.  Other activities could be refereeing games for our young players, 8 and Under, as well as working the scoreboard for their games.
