Poolesville Green

Founded in 2011, Poolesville Green educates the community about sustainable living practices and promotes the appreciation, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in Poolesville, Maryland and across Montgomery County.

We concentrate our educational activities in three areas:

1. Electric Vehicle education including EV showcase events
2. Renewable Energy access for households
3. Energy Efficiency in the home

We conduct electric vehicle showcase events namely at the Montgomery Co GreenFest in Spring & Poolesville Day on 3rd Saturday in September. We also have periodic roadside cleanups, workshops, seminars, documentary screenings, panel discussions, and more.

Volunteers help with event setup, breakdown, interfacing with the public to provide information, event registrations, roadside cleanups as the specific opportunity describes.

Poolesville Green promotes alternative energy sources, encourages the conservation of energy and water, and works to increase awareness about sustainable living practices, in particular renewable energy, electric vehicles and energy efficiency. We provide forums for sharing ideas and information, help connect residents and businesses, and sponsor environmental education through workshops, electric vehicle showcase events & more. Poolesville Green strives to improve the quality of life and business opportunities in the community.
