Rockville Bike Hub

Our Mission: The Rockville Bike Hub aims to enable members of the community to obtain, recycle and maintain bicycles, to repair and donate to those in need unused and unwanted bicycles, to educate community members about benefits of biking and to enhance the health of our community and environment by promoting bicycle transportation.

The Rockville Bike Hub is a mobile community bike shop in Rockville, MD that provides a place where cyclists of all kinds can go to learn how to fix and maintain their bikes, borrow tools to build or upgrade a bike, or just get advice and talk about bikes.  Currently we have a temporary indoor work space at 10 N. Washington St, Rockville. The Rockville Bike Hub serves members of the community who use a bicycle for transportation or recreation, but who may have limited disposable income to pay for repair or replacement of an existing bicycle. The Rockville Bike Hub also focuses on underserved groups in the bicycling community. RBH encourages all bicyclists in the community with an interest in, or need of, bicycle repair and maintenance to participate in its activities. In addition, the Rockville Bike Hub provides enthusiasts with a place to share knowledge and experience with each other and with anyone else who wants to learn.  The Rockville Bike Hub, Inc. was incorporated in September 2014 as a Maryland non-stock corporation. The Rockville bike Hub (RBH) received its IRS determination letter in July 2015. RBH is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is considered a public charity under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). All donations to RBH are tax-deductible under Section 170.

No matter what your level of experience with bicycle repair, you are welcome to become a volunteer. Donated bikes will be cleaned and tuned up and expendable parts replaced as needed. We have experienced volunteers who can help you learn to complete these tasks. RBH also collects used bicycle parts that need to be sorted and volunteers may choose to help with these inventory tasks as well.

Please note that volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
