Who We Are

To provide a safe haven to retired and unwanted farm animals, and an enjoyable environment in which people can learn about them.

What Volunteers Do

The animals at Star Gazing Farm come from many backgrounds: some were orphaned at birth, and some are in their winter years, requiring special eldercare; others were found as strays by animal control agencies or abandoned in the road or on lakes. We follow many widely accepted agricultural management practices for the health of our animals and our land, and we communicate with "real" farmers on an ongoing basis to broaden our knowledge. But the animals who live here are not in production. They will never be bred, slaughtered, sent to market, or eaten. They will live out the rest of their lives here, in peace.

Our volunteers help keep animal areas clean and assist in husbandry tasks.
