Who We Are
Washington Asian Philharmonic Orchestra (WAPO) was established in August 2007. It is a non-profit and charitable organization. The mission of the orchestra is to foster music appreciation, participation in community services, and the promotion of diversity. WAPO is an orchestra for musicians of all age, race, gender, and ethnicity. We strive to provide an outstanding learning experience and cultivate a lifelong passion for classical music.
What Volunteers Do
We have outstanding professional instructors to train young student musicians and perform within local community events, schools, nursing homes, and other activities.
Our members consist of students from grade 7-12, adult amateur musicians, and professional musicians. We rehearse regularly on Saturdays from 10 am- 12:00, and hold two concerts per year.
