Kalanidhi Dance

Founded in 1991 by Anuradha Nehru, Kalanidhi Dance is a non-profit organization 501(c)3, that is committed to the preservation, promotion and education of Kuchipudi dance, an Indian Classical dance style. Our Vision is to promote Kuchipudi Indian classical dance and make it an integral part of the American Performance arts landscape. We strive to do this through our mission, which is to inspire appreciation for Kuchipudi dance through artistic excellence, creative performances, high quality educational programs and collaborations.

Kalanidhi Dance works as both an education system, or a dance school, and also works as a performing dance company. With various partnerships in the D.C. area, Kalanidhi blends these areas seamlessly with student performances, company performances and showcases in New York City, Maryland and D.C. As an non-profit arts organization, we also must work as a such, and continue to do the behind the scenes work to keep the school and company, marketable, financially sustainable and legally compliant with state and federal law.
