Rockville Presbyterian Cooperative Nursery School

Who We Are

We are RPCNS, a licensed non-public cooperative nursery school, with morning programs for 2 year olds (twice a week), 3 year olds (three days a week) and 4 year olds (five mornings a week).  We were established in 1963 by the Rockville Presbyterian Church and separately incorporated in 1985.  Our philosophy is learning through play, and curriculum is not affiliated with any faith tradition.  Due to the cooperative school model, our parent members are very actively involved.

Our primary purpose is to teach preschool aged children from mid-September through the beginning of June each year.  We actively support the women's shelter started my RPC - Rainbow Place, do a food drive for Manna annually, put together comfort cases for other less fortunate children and more.

What Volunteers Do

We ask the student and teacher volunteers for assistance in our larger fundraising events.  This can be at a parent's Night out, where we have volunteers assist in watching the children for the few hours scheduled for the event, always with teacher and parent volunteers present.  It also could be help with our Spring Festival where we have volunteers assist in festival activities such as concession sales, and face painting.

Our parent members volunteer in projects and events to maintain our school both physically and administratively, and participate in fund raising events.  We also reach out to the wider community at times for help in running fund raising events.
