Who We Are

The mission of MiMadre is the pursuit of the following principles: *Commitment: MiMadre wants to inspire confidence, learning and community spirit in immigrant women and instill a sense of hope in the future. *Responsibility: The focus of MiMadre is to prepare women in establishing goals and following through on commitments. *Possibility: MiMadre wants to expand the perspective of immigrant women to make them aware of Life’s possibilities. *Support: All individuals thrive in a strong support system. MiMadre believes in surrounding young immigrants in a caring, inclusive learning environment. MiMadre History In 2012 Betsy McGuire quit the job of a lifetime in the intelligence community to work full time in her passion of helping others. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she embedded herself in the immigrant community in Montgomery County Maryland, befriending, working with and praying with the new our American families. Regardless of their immigration status, and sometimes because of it, Betsy continues to make a difference in people’s lives.
