Who We Are

The Montgomery County Community Cat Coalition (MC C3) was founded in 2016 by members of the D.C. metro area animal welfare community. The inaugural meeting had a packed house of diverse attendees including experts from several metro area animal welfare organizations. The coalition was formed in order to create an innovative, pro-active, community-based program to address issues involving un-owned cats. Some of our partners include: Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center, Metro Ferals, Alley Cat Allies, Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, Friends of Montgomery County Animals, Montgomery County Humane Society, Montgomery County Partners for Animal Well-Being (MCPAW), Pet Connect, Saint Francis Flock, Washington County Humane Society.

What Volunteers Do

The Montgomery County Community Cat Coalition (MC C3) is an independent, nonprofit animal protection organization dedicated to improving the lives of community cats in Montgomery County, Maryland. We do this by promoting and implementing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), by educating and engaging residents to value the lives of community cats, by developing programs and partnerships to mitigate cat-related issues, and by identifying and providing resources to community cat caregivers. For example, two of our projects are to build winter outdoor shelters for the community cats and collecting and distributing cat food to community cat caretakers.
