Who We Are
SEEC is a progressive nonprofit agency providing a wide range of community supports to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live lives of their choosing. Our goal is to become a community of excellence that honors, respects and assists people with developmental disabilities as they direct their lives towards work, relationships, recreation, and personal development. Our role is to create supports for people to identify their hopes and dreams, and access the resources needed to achieve them.
What Volunteers Do
SEEC’s services are driven by the unique desires of the men and women we support to live in a home of their choosing with whom they want to live, benefit from paid employment that is valued and meaningful, pursue their personal development through continuous learning, thrive in communities of family and friends.
Volunteers are essential to providing the people we support with the services they need. Volunteers help by serving as:
Instructors/mentors—Assist in professional skill building workshops for specific hard or soft skills (Mock Interviews, Dress for Success, Workplace Etiquette etc.), share knowledge of finances, health, or technology to a small group of adults with disabilities.
Guest Speakers—host a small group of adults with disabilities to tour your work for an immersive experience and share the specific duties, environment, relationships, and finances relating to your line of work.
Support Volunteer—share a skill or hobby (music, art, cooking, etc) with the people SEEC supports. Or schedule a time to hang out (companionship) with the people we support during our meaningful day programs
Agency Support—SEEC is in need of volunteer photographers, videographers, translators (Spanish, ASL), and event/fundraising volunteers.
