Recreational Volunteer Coach

Time 1 week day practice ( 2-2.5 hours) ; Saturday game day (approximately 3 - 4 hours)

Description

Volunteer Responsibilities: 

  • Lead soccer practices using the EYSDA Recreational Curriculum. 
  • Teach age-appropriate soccer skills and fundamentals.
  •   Help set up and take down fields, goals, and equipment. 
  • Support game-day operations during Saturday recreational games.
  •   Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior.
  •   Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants. 
  • Serve as a positive mentor and role model for youth. 
  • Assist with ESYDA community events, clinics, and outreach activities, and outreach throughout the season

Applicants should be: 

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Be able to work collaboratively with coaches, families and other volunteers
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude
  • Pass all required background screening and children safety requirements before working with participants
  • Attend volunteer orientation and required training


As an ESYDA volunteer coach, you will receive

  • Community service hours  Internship or service-learning experience (as approved by your academic program)
  •   Hands-on leadership experience working with youth 
  • Mentorship from experienced soccer coaches 
  • Resume-building experience 
  • Professional letters of recommendation (based on successful completion of volunteer service) 
  • Networking opportunities within youth sports and other non-profit organizations 
  • Opportunities for coach education and professional development 
  • Consideration for future paid coaching positions with ESYDA
