Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Lead soccer practices using the EYSDA Recreational Curriculum.
- Teach age-appropriate soccer skills and fundamentals.
- Help set up and take down fields, goals, and equipment.
- Support game-day operations during Saturday recreational games.
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Serve as a positive mentor and role model for youth.
- Assist with ESYDA community events, clinics, and outreach activities, and outreach throughout the season
Applicants should be:
- At least 18 years of age
- Enjoy working with children
- Be able to work collaboratively with coaches, families and other volunteers
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude
- Pass all required background screening and children safety requirements before working with participants
- Attend volunteer orientation and required training
As an ESYDA volunteer coach, you will receive:
- Community service hours Internship or service-learning experience (as approved by your academic program)
- Hands-on leadership experience working with youth
- Mentorship from experienced soccer coaches
- Resume-building experience
- Professional letters of recommendation (based on successful completion of volunteer service)
