The Rockville Holiday Drive (www.rockvillemd.gov/holidaydrive) makes Thanksgiving special for hundreds of families in the community, and we need your help!
To sign up, please read this posting in its entirety and reply with:
- the day/time of your ONE selected shift.
- your first and last name.
- your preferred email address.
- your phone number.
- the number of adults and children attending (from your household only – friends, coworkers, or members of community groups must contact us individually to sign up).
Using the "Respond" link on this page include the information requested in the "Notes" field.
Please print and sign the attached 2018 Volunteer Release Form to bring with you to your scheduled shift. All events will take place at Elwood Smith Community Center, 601 Harrington Road, Rockville, MD 20852.
The following volunteer shifts are open for produce bagging/food sorting/box packing:
- Wednesday, Nov. 14, 6:30-8pm FULL
- Friday, Nov. 16, 3-4:30pm ALMOST FULL
- Friday, Nov. 16, 6:30-8pm FULL
- Saturday, Nov. 17, 9-10:30am FULL
- Saturday, Nov. 17, 10:30am-12pm FULL
Volunteers at all shifts must be able to stoop to lift and deposit food, and Saturday (box packing) volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds. All children must be at least seven years old, and those under 14 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
The following volunteer shifts are open for delivering food/gift cards to homebound seniors and families without transportation:
- Saturday, Nov. 17, 10am-12:15pm ALMOST FULL
- Saturday, Nov. 17, 10:15am-12:30pm ALMOST FULL
Volunteers make deliveries using their own vehicle. Children of any age may assist with deliveries, but each group must include at least two adults.
