As part of The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT Vision Zero Youth Ambassador (VZYA) program, we are excited to announce our first-ever online art contest for middle school students! The contest will allow students to showcase their artistic skills while also educating others on the importance of traffic safety. Middle-school students from across Montgomery County are able to participate with no entry fee! All students who submit quality submissions will receive 2 SSL Hours, as well as the chance to win additional prizes for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd ($100, $50, $25 Amazon Gift Cards respectively.) These winning artworks will be displayed on the MCDOT and Safe Routes to School website.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety and privacy at any time the student is interacting with the nonprofit and its clients. The nonprofit organization will determine the number of SSL hours awarded based on the evidence submitted. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. This service activity is designed to be completed within the safety of the student’s home.
