Volunteers of 13 and up alone or we welcome families of younger children to volunteer together. This is a great SSL opportunity! You do not need to know anything about biking to help out.
Join us this Sunday at the Ride for the Reserve Bike Tour! This is a bike tour in Montgomery County's Ag Reserve among the farms and fields of Barnesville, Poolesville and surrounding areas. All proceeds go to protecting the farms and open space of the Ag Reserve.
Bikers will be riding routes of 10-62 miles starting at Barnesville School and stopping at rest stops on local farms and a picnic at Kingsbury's Orchard before the final 3 miles back to the start. Learn more about the Ride here.
Volunteer roles are many - greeting bikers and replenishing snacks at farm rest stops, helping to set up and serve the picnic or managing parking and check-in early.
You can sign up for a bunch of slots throughout the day, rack up a bunch of SSL hours and see a number of different farms. (Please note, we are not able to drive volunteers from one venue to another). We need help throughout the day from 7am to 4pm - sign up for as much or as little as you'd like. Volunteers are welcome to join us for lunch at the Kingsbury's Orchard Picnic when they have finished their shift.
