Since 2013, Nourish Now has partnered with the Montgomery County Holiday Giving Project to provide all of the fixings for a complete Thanksgiving feast. Last year, we served over 5,000 people in our area and intend to exceed this goal again this year. We know through partnerships and community involvement from individuals and local businesses we are able to achieve Nourish Now’s annual commitment to bring Thanksgiving meals to families in need.

Background of Nourish Now:
Nourish Now is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides food to those in need by collecting donations of surplus food from restaurants, caterers, farms, grocery stores and other food providers. Food collected is redistributed to families in need, food banks, and other organizations that assist in feeding the hungry throughout Montgomery County, MD and beyond.
In an effort to end hunger through food recovery, donations are collected throughout Montgomery County, MD and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and distributed directly to individuals, families and partner organizations.
How Can You Help?
HOST A TURKEY DRIVE:
Schedule a single day event for your organization to collect frozen turkeys and Nourish Now will come and pick them up. Our goal is to distribute 1,000 turkeys. We also welcome monetary donations to help us purchase turkeys.
HOST A CANNED FOOD DRIVE:
Collect healthy, non-perishable food items that you think families and children would enjoy for their Thanksgiving feast. Nourish Now will drop off boxes and signage and pick up the items at the end of your drive. Examples may include:
- Stuffing mix
- Canned corn
- Canned yams
- Canned carrots
- Cranberry sauce
- Biscuit mix
- Cornbread mix
- Canned green beans
- Chicken broth
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Instant potatoes
- Canned pumpkin
