Orientation for Urban Farmer Internship at Koiner Farm

Koiner Farm, a 1-acre urban farm in downtown Silver Spring, seeks part-time summer interns. This is a great opportunity for college or high school students interested in urban ag.  Internship offers either college credit, SSL hours or a small stipend. Commitment is minimum 4 hours per week for 12 weeks. Job description includes tending to crops, harvesting produce for market, and selling at the Silver Spring Farmers' Market on Saturday morning.  Interns will learn how to manage soil nutrients, operate a 3-bin hot compost system, install drip irrigation, monitor soil conditions, and more.  Orientation for summer interns is Sunday, June 9th, 5-6pm at Koiner Farm (737 Easley Street, Silver Spring).  Please contact kate@ckcfarming.org if you plan to attend the orientation.  Space is limited.
