Fresh CORE: Shower Services for the Homeless
Description:The CORE Foundation is seeking compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers to support our Fresh CORE shower service program, which provides essential hygiene access to individuals experiencing homelessness. Volunteers play a key role in helping clients feel welcomed, respected, and cared for throughout their visit. Tasks include distributing hygiene supplies, guiding clients through the facility, and ensuring a smooth and dignified experience.
Location: BlackRock Center For The Arts - 12901 Town Commons Dr, Germantown MD 20874
Age Restrictions: Children under 12 are not permitted. Minors, ages 12 to 16 may participate only if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Program Assistance Needs are as follows, (6 PAs per Shift):
Client Sign-in: Check clients in and direct them to the waiting area.
Supply Distribution: Distribute hygiene kits that include towels, washcloths, soap bars, shower flip flops, and socks to clients.
Client Guide (Snacks & Refreshments)
Client Guide (Inside/Outside): Assist clients within the facility, answer questions, direct clients to the appropriate stations and provide support.
Timer: Monitor and manage time slots for shower and dressing room use to ensure all clients have fair access.
Supply Collector: Gather and organize supplies after use.
How to Prepare:
All volunteers must complete a volunteer application on the CORE website.
Volunteer Application
Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the weather and a family-friendly environment.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for a brief orientation before the start of your shift.
