In observance of Heritage Montgomery, the Prathertown Community Development Corporation is hosting a family day.
The session will be held at the community center inside the historic African-American Prathertown Community in Gaithersburg which was founded in 1883. Families will come together to enjoy a day of games, music, fun activities, food, drinks, and bonding over history.
We need volunteers to complete the following tasks:
Help manage attendee's
Greet and check in participants
Set up tables and chairs inside the community center
Clean up the community center at the end of the session
Set up decorations
Carry supplies for picnic
Clean up and put away supplies
Volunteers are expected to arrive promptly and begin at 12 pm and be dismissed at 4pm. There are four categories for volunteers to focus their work on: Parking, Food, Decorations, signage, and artifacts.
Light food and drink will be provided for volunteers.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
