Let’s Play America is hosting a family-friendly Fourth of July event featuring playful activities, a community picnic, and a prime viewing area for the Takoma Park parade. The event brings neighbors together to celebrate with joy, connection, and plenty of play.
Volunteer Roles May Include:

Set-Up Crew (8:00–9:00 AM): Assist with tables, tents, signage, and activity zones.

Activity Station Helpers: Engage kids and families in simple play activities (e.g., bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops).

Welcome Table Hosts: Greet attendees, hand out flyers, invite people to donate or learn more about LPA.

Parade Watch Support: Help monitor crowd flow, keep the area clean, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Picnic Monitors: Help manage food areas, clean up trash, and maintain picnic spaces.

Clean-Up Crew (1:00–1:30 PM): Assist with breakdown and site clean-up.

No street parking is available; please park in surrounding neighborhoods or at nearby schools.

Community service hours (SSL) can be signed off—please check with LPA's designated representative in advance.
Dress Code:
Casual, weather-appropriate clothing; LPA shirts or festive red/white/blue attire encouraged.

Volunteers interested in this event should email info@letsplayamerica.org share their name, cell phone number, email address and t-shirt size, unless they already have a Let’s Play America t-shirt. They must be able to volunteer the entire time. Bring a lunch and water bottle. Wear comfortable clothing, a hat and have sunscreen. This is an outdoor event.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
