An hour of your day once a month can make a difference. You can help your neighbors in need by picking up produce at Norman’s Farmstand and delivering to storage refrigerators belonging to Small Things Matter in Takoma Park.
Here’s how: Pick up a few produce boxes from a local grocery or big box store. Bring a bathroom scale if you have one to weigh the produce. Arrive at the farmstand around 5:45 pm on Sunday and let the staff know you are there to pick up produce for HarvestShare. Weigh the produce or ask the farmstand employees for an estimate before loading in your car. (The employees have been very helpful in assisting with this.) Deliver the produce to 6719 Conway Avenue in Takoma Park, approximately 4 miles away. If you set your GPS to 404 Circle Ave, you will find the house and lot across the street in the back left side of the yard. Place your produce in the refrigerators.
