The National Council of Asian Indian Associations (NCAIA), in collaboration with other community organizations in the DMV area, hosted India’s 79th Independence Day celebrations on September 13, 2025, at Wheaton High School in Silverspring, Maryland, bringing together elected officials, community leaders, and members of the Indian American community. The students will be displaying presentations on political states of India.
Volunteers will be helping with the setup of the stage and event and directing attendees (expected to be >500).
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
