If you have a talent for tech, we need you! As a Technology Support volunteer, you'll work with our Technology Coordinator to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware at our tax sites.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide helps to provide free federal and state tax preparation services to local residents. This is an incredible opportunity to interact with and help many people, learn new skills, or use your existing ones to make a real difference in your community.
Responsibilities
- Distribute, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, including Chromebooks, printers and routers at various tax sites.
- Assist tax counselors with technology issues.
Time Commitment & Training
- Training: Complete a series of online training videos in January. You'll also receive on-the-job training with the Technology Coordinator.
- Tax Season: Commit to 1-2 hours per day during the tax season (February 1 – April 15).
Requirements
- Working knowledge of computers, software, and electronic communication.
- Ability to travel to various tax sites as needed.
- Access to email and the internet.
