Opportunity Title: Professional Development Workshop Interpretation Support (Spanish to English and English to Spanish)
Opportunity Description: We are looking for fully bilingual English Spanish speakers with native/heritage fluency (preferably in both languages but at least one) to provide consecutive interpretation support during our annual professional development workshop with an external company. The volunteers would be supporting the staff of external company in breakout rooms with 1 – 10 participants to streamline communication during these side sessions. Interpretation would be needed from both English to Spanish and Spanish to English and will be provided consecutively, not simultaneously. Volunteers are not required to be certified interpreters but should be completely comfortable interpreting between the two languages in a remote setting, and preferably having interpretation experience, whether through a formal position or volunteering.
Individuals assisting can do so virtually as this is a limited, one – time opportunity. They will need to have comfortability participating in a virtual call through Zoom. They will also need to review, sign, and return our Volunteer Personnel Manual, our Confidentiality Agreement.

Responsibilities:
· Assistance with facilitation conversation through consecutive interpretation between staff of external company presenting and clients participating in the workshop
· Interpretation of information shared by staff of external company from English to Spanish
· Interpretation of information shared and questions asked by clients from Spanish to English
Opportunity Qualifications:
Required:
o Aged 18+ or older
o Bilingual abilities, English – Spanish native/heritage fluency
o Ability to utilize Zoom for virtual meetings
o Flexibility to provide support during business days/hours
o Polite, courteous, and a positive disposition
o Ability to communicate well with others
o Organized, timely, and able to meet deadlines
o Passionate about serving the immigrant community
Preferred:
o Some experience in consecutive interpretation, specifically between English and Spanish
o Previous experience working to assist low-income individuals, immigrants, refugees, or survivors of domestic abuse/sexual assault/trauma
Commitment: Individuals assisting with this opportunity will need to be able to assist Friday, October 17th from 11 AM – 12:30 PM. Support can be provided remotely/virtually.
Technology Needed: Individuals will need to have a mobile device or computer that they can not only join the call from but have comfortability providing interpretation support through
