Are you a tinkerer? Do you like to fix things? The Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library sponsors monthly Fixit Clinics, and we are looking for volunteer Fixit coaches of all ages with knowledge and skills to repair a wide variety of items (fabric and clothes, bicycles, household electrical items and appliances, wooden items and furniture, jewelry, dull knives/garden tools, computers, phones, and technology items). A Fixit Clinic is not a repair service. It is a do-it-together activity where people bring in their broken household things and learn how to assess, disassemble, and repair them instead of throwing them away. Fixit coaches work with the person with the broken item to figure out what is wrong, and try to fix it.
