Join Vietnamese American Services (VAS) as a volunteer for the Maryland Mid-Autumn Festival 2026, one of the largest Vietnamese cultural celebrations in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Since 2015, VAS has been dedicated to serving the Vietnamese-American community through education, health, social services, cultural preservation, and community engagement.
The Maryland Mid-Autumn Festival attracts more than 4,000 attendees each year and features live cultural performances, children's activities, traditional lantern celebrations, community resources, food vendors, local businesses, and family-friendly entertainment.
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience for our community.

No previous experience is required.
Training and orientation will be provided before the event.
MCPS Student Service Learning (SSL) hours are available.
MCPS Student Service Learning (SSL) Hours: This volunteer opportunity is intended to qualify for MCPS SSL hours upon approval. Volunteers are responsible for following MCPS SSL requirements and obtaining any required documentation. VAS will verify completed volunteer service after the event.
Whether you are a student, professional, retiree, family, or community member, we welcome you to join us in celebrating culture, service, and community.
Volunteers will be assigned to event teams by the VAS Operations Team based on event needs. Volunteer confirmation emails, parking instructions, event schedules, and team assignments will be emailed to all registered volunteers before the event.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
