Open Door Sports, a local nonprofit, is looking for middle and/or high school aged students to volunteer as peer buddies in their soccer program for students with special needs at Flora M. Singer Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD. Peer Buddies will be partnered with a player and are asked to be a positive and encouraging friend to the student as they learn the game of soccer. Lots of high five and positive energy! SSL hours will be given for time spent volunteering. No sports experience is needed.
Sessions occur weekly from 4:00 - 5:00pm on Mondays from September 14 to October 26, 2026.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
