Lucky Dog Animal Rescue has an adoption event EVERY SUNDAY of the month!
1st Sunday of the Month - Alexandria PetSmart (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)
2nd Sunday of the Month - Rockville PetSmart (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)
3rd Sunday of the Month - Falls Church PetSmart (6100 A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)
4th Sunday of the Month - Silver Spring PetSmart (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)

Come spend the afternoon with a Lucky Dog! We need dog handlers to hold a dog's leash during our adoption event and talk up the dog to potential adopters. We also need drivers to drive Lucky Dogs and cats to and from our adoption event. Handler check-in is at 11:15 am. You should plan to stay until 3:30 pm.
The final day to sign up for any event is the Friday before that specific event.

You must sign up on the Lucky Dog Volunteer System—signing up on this site does not register you as a volunteer, and your sign-up will not be seen.
Once you join our volunteer system, you will have your own volunteer dashboard and will just sign up for events there for all future volunteer experiences!
Must be at least 7 years old to volunteer, and anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent present at all times (the parent must be the one physically holding the dog's leash). Please note that you MUST have one adult in attendance for each child.
All volunteering for Lucky Dog is eligible for school volunteer hours, and other tracked volunteer hours as needed!

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
